USA Today teamed up with Mobility Score, a website that assesses transportation options in the top 100 Metropolitan areas in North America and came up with their list of best cities for travelers to get around without a car. They also looked at these cities and factored in how easy it is to take a bus or catch a cab or train to move around and see the sights.
If you guessed New York as one of these cities— you’re right! New York, with its well established public transit system, is on top of the list. However if you thought that Los Angeles would not show up on the Top 10 List —–then this time, you’re wrong! Although LA comes to mind when you think bumper to bumper traffic and a place where most people have a car and drive everywhere, Los Angeles still made the list due to the growth of the LA Metro area and the significant changes in mobility brought by Uber and Lyft.
Here are the other cities that rounded out the top 10.
New York City
Boston
Washingon DC
San Francisco
Philadelphia
Los Angeles
Chicago
Seattle
Denver
Baltimore
