6 Sexy Kitchen Backsplash Trends

We love the way a backsplash can really set the tone of the whole kitchen. While classic subway tiles (which we love) are all the rage these days, we wanted to go down the road less traveled.

We put together some of our favorite backsplash trends that we think you should know about!

Nothing exemplifies the ultra-modern look like the look of seamless glass backsplash. The great thing about this material is that you can have the protected side of the glass painted any color you want.

Whether you want something subtle or an eye-catching pop of color, painted glass has it covered

Mirrored tiles are a great way to add some glam to your kitchen. There are so many styles of mirrored tile to choose from. From subway shaped tiles to diamonds and everything in between mirrored backsplashes can match your style.

There is also the option of etched mirror as well. One clever idea we’ve seen is a single piece of mirror which can give the feeling of additional space.

We love metallic backsplashes! These are a real show stopper. These are much easier to keep clean than the mirrored tile mentioned earlier but provide a similar glam look.

Marble is one of the most luxurious materials you can use in your kitchen. The great thing about using marble as a backsplash is that it works well with other materials. So if you have an existing countertop especially a solid color, marble is a wonderful choice.  If a slab is not in your budget you can also use marble tiles to incorporate a similar look.

We love this fresh take on a classic look. Patterns are becoming more and more popular in 2018. Complex geometric shapes are a shift away from simplicity. They provide a wonderful way to give your kitchen a unique look.

Yes, we said it wallpaper! For years this was the norm for the modern kitchen. While tile and other materials have lots of options, nothing can compare with the seemingly endless choices in pattern, color, and even texture as wallpaper.

The other great benefit of wallpaper is how easily you can replace it. Read more about our love for wallpaper here.

We know that backsplashes take a back seat to countertops and are often not seen as a way to let your creative side flourish but we hope that this has given you a fresh new look at your kitchen backsplash options.
